A leaky faucet can result from a faulty cartridge. Replacing the cartridge often resolves the leaky faucet problem. After shutting off the water supply, the cover cap and the two screws securing the escutcheon should be removed. The older cartridge should then be removed and replaced.

Replace the pipe joint

Leaks located along the pipe joint can be fixed in one of several ways. A kit with a neoprene sleeve and screw hinge is what’s needed to stop the leaking. The kit must be inserted. After the screws are secured and tightened, the leaking problem usually stops.

Epoxy putty to resolve a leaky joint

Epoxy putty can be used to seal a leaky joint. It should be applied around the damaged joint area. Although it is somewhat effective, it isn’t nearly as effective as a line-clamp repair. Before using this method, be sure to verify whether or not the pipe shows signs of rust.

Start by loosening the screw to remove a handle from the leaky faucet. The spout, o-rings, seats, springs, cam, ball and washer may all need to be removed. First, the new seats and springs should be replaced. Next, the ball valve should be replaced. When replacing the ball valve, be sure to line up all of the holes before reassembling the faucet. The faucet can then be put back together again and tested.

When beginning most of these repairs, it’s usually best to cut off the water supply. The main valve to your Mobile home must first be shut off.
